This tour is perfect for those looking to spend a relaxing day in nature. You can find many lakes here, surrounded by forests and meadows and connected by waterfalls created by geological processes and living organisms.
The route you will take is circular and takes you to areas from all parts of the Park. Besides walking, you will also take an electric boat ride and on the way back, you will take the panoramic train and admire many waterfalls.
Plitvice Lakes is the oldest and largest national park in Croatia. Even though this UNESCO World Heritage site has the word "lake" in it, the Park's bodies of water take up even less than 1% of the Park's surface.
This is not a survival show and we don't want you to get lost in a forest. You will have an expert local guide with you at all times. They will help you move around and answer any questions you may have.

Beautiful nature & friendly guide
We chose the 8-hour tour, packed lunch, and some snacks, and this turned out to be the perfect family day to spend outdoors. Our guide was friendly and took it easy when we were a bit tired. Overall, it was a great experience! It would also be cool to visit in winter and see the waterfalls when they're frozen.
Convenient skip-the-line access
I'm a nature and hiking enthusiast and have been wanting to visit Plitvice Lakes for a while. It was incredibly beautiful, especially the Upper Lakes area. I loved the boat ride and the train. It was so peaceful looking out at all of the waterfalls and trees! Skip the line entry was also great, it saved me a lot of time!

KARST LANDSCAPE
The Park is part of the Dinarides karst region, one of the most impressive in the world. The Upper Lakes are bigger and their shorelines gently slope. One of the biggest ones is the Kozjak Lake. The Lower Lakes, on the other hand, are found in a narrow canyon with steep banks. The Park is known for the cascading lakes that form because of natural dams. It's not only geological and chemical processes that lead to this, but also live organisms!
SUNKEN WATERFALL
One really cool example of this formation of natural dams between the lakes is the Kozjak Lake. It used to be divided into two lakes about 400 years ago, with a 40-meter-high waterfall. Because one of the dams grew very fast, the water rose and fully covered the waterfall, joining the two lakes into one massive lake! You can see the submerged barrier from the electric boat on a sunny day.
SCULPTED BY MICROORGANISMS
The natural dams and rock formations don't occur only due to chemical and geological processes but also due to blue-green algae, bacteria and other organisms. They make up a lively community that lives on rocks, even underwater, and are the artists who sculpt the beautiful and ever-changing landscape.
DIVERSE FAUNA
Many animals live in this area. There are more than 300 species of butterflies and more than 100 species of birds. When walking around, you can hear woodpeckers in the distance and there are also a lot of owls. The most known animals, though, are the Eurasian lynx, the gray wolf and the largest European animal, the brown bear. They are all endangered and protected species. Don't worry, the bears like to be on their own, away from people.
