Beautiful park, easy trip
This national park full day tour was great! We walked as a small group and saw lots of waterfalls, even a cave near the lower lakes. I liked how easy it was to follow the wooden trails. My favorite part was the boat ride across Kozjak Lake and the Veliki Slap waterfall. If you’re in Zadar and like group tours, I highly recommend this one!
Great value and experience
I did the Zadar and Plitvice Lakes combo. We first visited the park, and I thought it was stunning! The waterfalls were so beautiful, and the lake colors were unreal. After the lakes, I joined the guided tour of Zadar's Old Town. We saw St. Donatus Church and the Sea Organ, which I found very interesting. It was a day well spent!

The birth of Plitvice Lakes
A legend says that long ago, during a terrible drought, the land around Plitvice was dry and lifeless. Crops and rivers died, and people hid in caves, praying for rain. One morning, they gathered at the Spring of Life where their elder spoke to the Black Queen. The Black Queen was a spirit known for protecting them in times of need. They all confessed their sins and mistakes, except for one selfish man, who was cast out.
At that moment, a rainbow appeared, and rain began to fall. The Black Queen promised her tears would become two rivers: the Black and White Rivers. These rivers filled the valleys and gave life to sixteen lakes. Today, Plitvice Lakes National Park flows thanks to her gift.
